Information We Collect

Gym Notes Assistant is designed to work without user accounts and without sending your workout data to our servers.

Data stored on your device

When you use the App, information you enter or create may be stored locally on your device, including for example:

• exercise library content (names, technique notes, equipment names, and related text);
• equipment photos you choose to attach (from the camera or photo library);
• optional video links and optional offline video files you save;
• workout plans (sets, repetitions, weight, rest, and notes);
• completed and cancelled workout sessions and recorded sets;
• app settings (such as weight unit, theme, language, and default rest duration);
• temporary files used for export/import backups or media handling.

Permissions

Depending on how you use the App, the operating system may ask for permission to access:

• Camera — to photograph gym equipment for an exercise;
• Photo library — to choose an existing equipment image;
• File / document access — when you export or import a backup file;
• Home-screen widgets / Live Activities (where supported) — to show and control an active workout outside the main app UI.

These permissions are used only for the features you choose to use. You can deny or revoke them in system settings; some features may then be unavailable.

What we do not collect by default

We do not require registration and we do not collect identity details such as name, surname, gender, date of birth, email address, or postal address in order to use the App.

The App does not include advertising SDKs for personalized ads, and it does not depend on a cloud account to store your training library or history.

How We Use Your Information

Data stored by the App is used only to:

• provide core features (plans, active workouts, history, progress, technique notes);
• remember your preferences on that device;
• support optional features you enable (equipment images, video links/offline copies, widgets, backup export/import);
• let you delete local data from Settings when you choose to.

We do not use your local workout content to build advertising profiles.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal or workout information to third parties.

Because core data stays on your device:

• sharing happens only if you choose to share (for example, exporting a backup JSON file through the system share sheet, or opening an external video URL);
• app-store platforms (Apple, Google) may process standard install, purchase, and crash/diagnostics information under their privacy policies when you obtain the App from their stores;
• we may disclose information if required by law or if necessary to protect our rights or the rights of others, to the limited extent such information is available to us (for example, if you contact us by email).

If you open third-party links (such as instructional videos), those sites or apps have their own privacy practices. This Privacy Policy applies only to Gym Notes Assistant.

Your Choices

You can:

• use the App without creating an account;
• decline camera or photo permissions and still use the App without equipment images;
• export or import exercise/plan backups when you want a portable copy;
• delete local app data using the in-app delete all local data action (this cannot be undone);
• uninstall the App, which typically removes locally stored app data according to your device’s OS behavior.

Backups you export are under your control. Keep them safe if they contain information you consider private.

Data Retention

Local data remains on your device until you delete it in the App, clear app storage, or uninstall the App. We do not operate a cloud retention schedule for your workout library because we do not host that library on our servers.

Children’s Privacy

The App is a general-purpose fitness utility and is not directed at children. Do not use the App to store information about children if applicable law would require parental consent or additional safeguards that this local utility does not provide.

Updates to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy (for example in the App listing, project documentation, or an in-app notice) before or when the change becomes effective. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
